Forest and Chain of Custody certification enables consumers to make informed purchase decisions. It assures consumers that the product has been sourced from a forest certified as sustainably managed in accordance with an internationally recognised legal framework that has been independently audited.
THE CHAIN OF CUSTODY INVOLVES:
- Applicants committed to only using wood from forests certified to the AFS standard and are trained to use a documented standard approach to record keeping and operating within the system.
- Independent audit of the system ensures compliance to the documented standard.
THERE ARE A NUMBER OF LINKS THAT ARE KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF THE SYSTEM.
- FTT Inc as the parent body of the Chain of Custody system has engaged a systems manager.
- The Chain of Custody system is independently audited to the Responsible Wood Certification Scheme on an annual basis by an accredited certification body, Global-Mark.
The Responsible Wood system is based on credible Australian standards developed under the robust Standards development process endorsed by Standards Australia. The Chain of Custody system is independently audited to the Australian Forestry Standard on an annual basis by an accredited certification body, Global-Mark.
